    Woodquay is one of the oldest communities in Galway- the river use to flow through – where a boats docked at a wooden quay – most people made their livelihood from the water and it is said that the have Feet in the water. As one resident stated; ‘once you could walk you learned to row’.     Park development

    Through consultation with designers and other communities we have conceived an initial design concept to use as a starting point for a wider discussion within the community.  The potential of the park is to promote a more positive usage of our shared community space. The design concept is inspired by the importance of water in peoples everyday lived experience and the mythological origins of the name Lough Corrib.
